High School Department

In the first semester of the 2018-2019 school year, our high school department welcomed its second grade and 325 new students and 32 new teachers for the first grade.

Main work: 1. Organize all teachers to deeply study and practice the concepts of "New Curriculum Reform, New College Entrance Examination" and the "Yangsi Model", striving to create a "highly efficient ecological" classroom and improve the quality of classroom teaching.

2. Implement teaching conventions, promote refined management, and continuously improve the level of teaching management.

Collective lesson preparation adheres to "four certainties" (fixed time, fixed location, fixed content, fixed main preparer) and "three havings" (having a plan, having discussions, having reflections). Monthly teaching inspections are conducted, comprehensively checking teachers' lesson preparation, assignments, and tests, linking the inspection results to monthly performance-based wages. We implement differentiated instruction to support both high-achieving and low-achieving students, assigning mentors based on exam results to ensure that every student progresses. Regular weekly and monthly tests are conducted to promptly identify and address students' shortcomings and problems in knowledge and skills acquisition, allowing for adjustments and improvements in teaching.

3. Strengthen subject group construction, promote teachers' professional growth, and encourage teachers to develop into research-oriented teachers. Implement the "Blue-Green Project", promoting mutual growth between experienced and new teachers; improve the subject resource library, promoting resource sharing, transforming subject groups from "management-oriented" to "research-oriented", and teachers from "experience-oriented" to "research-oriented".

4. Hold traditional events such as the "English Hand-drawn Newspaper" competition and "English Fun Dubbing", and try using the "College Entrance Examination e-Network" online learning platform to conduct paired "challenges" between classes and students, enriching teaching activities and methods, stimulating students' learning interest and enthusiasm, and improving learning efficiency.

5. Firmly establish the educational philosophy of "knowledge-seeking as the root, people-oriented as the foundation", consolidate the management of moral education conventions, combine daily safety education with phased safety education, carry out various forms of safety education activities, and achieve "zero accidents" in safety management responsibilities. Strengthen the construction of political workers and team head teachers, regularly hold head teacher meetings and experience exchange meetings, organize head teachers' theoretical learning and experience exchanges, and continuously improve the management level and professional quality of head teachers. Promote student self-management, organize student union cadres to actively participate in duty, evaluation, and other management work, and promote the formation of a good academic atmosphere and class atmosphere. Persist in holding flag-raising speeches and themed class meetings, complete the handover of the national flag guard team, and conduct education on patriotism, promoting traditional culture, love of reading, love of life, gratitude, and dedication.

Educational Philosophy: To serve students' growth, parents' hopes, and societal development; to respect individuals and the collective, emphasizing equality between teachers and students, respecting all students, and enabling all students to become masters of their learning and protagonists in the classroom, learning happily and growing up happily in school.

Educational Approach: Closed Management, Open Education.

"Closed Management" refers to strict management, establishing scientific behavioral norms and a strict evaluation system.

"Open Education" is reflected in various aspects such as curriculum design, management models, and classroom teaching models.

In terms of curriculum design, in addition to fully offering the subjects stipulated by the new curriculum standards, such as Chinese, mathematics, English, physics, chemistry, biology, politics, history, geography, physical education, music, art, and information technology, students have a large break after the first class each day, including running exercises, sign language exercises, hulusi (a type of free-reed wind instrument), five-step boxing, etc. There are also weekly flag-raising ceremonies hosted by each class in turn, five minutes of songs and maxims before the first class after the afternoon nap, sharing of the Disciple's Rules after evening self-study every day, and social or family practice assignments and public welfare activities during each vacation, reflecting diversification and life-oriented learning.

In terms of management model, the "129" class self-management system is implemented, where everyone is a manager and everyone is managed, fully leveraging students' agency, allowing students to engage in self-awareness, self-management, self-monitoring, self-evaluation, self-correction, and self-improvement during learning activities, cultivating students' teamwork awareness and the psychological qualities of being willing to reflect and communicate effectively, making every student an excellent manager, serving the needs of students' future development.

In classroom teaching, a "Three Lessons, Five Rings" green and efficient classroom is constructed, using advanced curriculum reform concepts and scientific teaching methods to improve teachers' teaching level, improve students' academic performance, and enhance the educational and teaching quality of the department.

In 2018, the first junior high school entrance examination achieved second place in the comprehensive evaluation of Yingcheng City and won the title of "Yingcheng City 2018 Junior High School Entrance Examination Excellent Unit". In the city-wide end-of-term unified examination in the autumn of 2018, all three grades ranked second. Participating twice in Yingcheng City's classic reading competition, winning first place in the first competition and second place in the second competition; teachers Zuo Yanxia and Wu Wen represented Yingcheng in the Xiaogan City Junior High School Chinese Youth Teacher Quality Competition and Junior High School Physics High-Efficiency Ecological Classroom Excellent Lesson Competition, both winning first place; more than 20 teachers won nearly 50 awards in various levels of teaching and research achievements. In November 2018, teacher Zheng Qingguo was awarded the title of senior teacher in Hubei Province, the only teacher from Yingcheng City selected in this evaluation.

The junior high school department's educational work has received widespread praise from society, families, and students, with the department receiving over 100 letters of thanks from parents and the public. Education Bureau leaders commented as follows during their regular supervision activities at our school: "The junior high school department of our school has strong execution ability, standardized management, and high teacher and student quality, and has truly delivered education that satisfies the people of Yingcheng."

Strengthening teacher morality and cultivating teacher spirit, focusing on teaching and research to promote teaching reform, building a high-quality teacher team, the business skills of all teachers have been significantly improved, and a large number of new teaching stars and excellent teachers have emerged, including Tu Yan, Ye Lei, Cai Qi, Yang Dong, Wei Xing, Li Xin, and Yang Bo.

Precisely grasping routine teaching, strengthening classroom inspections; strengthening teaching routine inspections and evaluations; carefully organizing examination work, promoting teaching through examinations, and promoting learning through examinations; vigorously promoting the "Blue-Green Project", comprehensively improving teaching quality.

English teaching activities are rich and colorful, highlighting the school's educational advantages. Various activities are held weekly, such as English salons, fun story sessions, happy singing bars, game parks, and little speakers, stimulating students' interest in learning English and improving their English proficiency.

Innovative moral education and character education have achieved remarkable results. We always adhere to moral education as the priority, carefully planning and organizing effective activities, such as pre-holiday education meetings, road team readings, speech and essay writing activities, and themed team meetings, allowing each child to distinguish right from wrong, truth from falsehood, and beauty from ugliness, initially forming correct values, worldviews, and outlooks on life.

Strengthening the synergy between home and school, we hosted the "Parents' Sunshine Forum," making full use of parental educational resources and expanding new ideas in moral education. Weekly class meetings require each class to invite 1-2 parents to conduct moral education, mental health education, and life knowledge lectures for children from a parental perspective. Parents are enthusiastic, students are interested, and the results are excellent.

We have significantly strengthened safety education and management. We signed safety responsibility letters with homeroom teachers, clarifying safety responsibilities, and establishing an emergency response plan for the school, enhancing the school's ability to respond to and handle emergencies. We regularly conduct safety inspections and rectifications of student living and teaching facilities, water and electricity, glass, and other areas that may endanger the lives of teachers and students, eliminating safety hazards. We hold "Life Safety Themed Class Meetings" monthly for each grade, using blackboards and pre-holiday education to popularize safety knowledge among students. We have implemented safety precautions in corridors and during breaks, strictly enforcing floor duty systems, and ensuring seamless teacher handover during breaks. We consistently maintain students' personal hygiene, food hygiene, student pick-up and drop-off, and disease prevention. We focus on the mental health of elementary school students, highlighting the function and effectiveness of the "Starry House," and consistently combining individual psychological counseling with collective education to provide targeted mental health education and guidance.

Characteristic education is vibrant and colorful, and campus life is rich and diverse. In accordance with the overall educational goal of standardization plus characteristics, we comprehensively build the school's characteristics and brand. We have launched a variety of extracurricular activities, running a total of 87 interest classes, including broadcasting and hosting, calligraphy, painting, handicrafts, modern dance, folk dance, ukulele, recorder, taekwondo, ball games, chess, etc. Children in extracurricular activities express their individuality, develop their specialties, satisfy their interests, cultivate their sentiments, and improve their practical skills. Students from painting and track and field classes have also won numerous awards for the school, achieving remarkable results.

Logistics Support Services

Logistics support services adhere to the principle of serving education and teaching, serving teachers and students, aiming for teacher and student satisfaction and parental peace of mind. We have done meticulous, complex, and effective work, earning the affirmation of teachers and students, as well as the recognition of parents and society.

Through standardized operations and optimized management, we provide high-quality living services to teachers and students. We maintain a balance of nutrition, hygiene, and taste in our daily three meals. Food procurement management implements a review system and accountability system, with tracking management implemented at all levels to ensure zero food safety incidents. The canteen hygiene management adheres to a weekly major cleaning, diligently supervising daily cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection, strengthening the attire and standardized operations of canteen staff, ensuring food hygiene in the canteen.

During each major holiday break, we organize logistics personnel to conduct comprehensive inspections of campus buildings and equipment, promptly repairing damaged desks and chairs, doors, locks, windows, and water and electricity facilities. We diligently complete the provision of various materials, including office supplies, computer consumables, teacher clothing, student uniforms, teaching materials, and cleaning supplies.

Implementing the "people-oriented" philosophy, we have developed a food safety emergency plan and, in cooperation with the political and educational office, have developed emergency evacuation plans for teaching buildings, fire emergency plans, student dormitory safety emergency plans, and student activity safety emergency plans, and conducted corresponding drills, effectively ensuring the safety of teachers, students, and school property, and improving the ability of teachers and students to respond to major emergencies or natural disasters.

In terms of school property management, office and classroom arrangements, the distribution, registration, and repair of office desks and student desks, the distribution of office supplies, and the installation and arrangement of student beds are all handled with care and responsibility.

Strengthening security and protection work, adhering to the principle of prevention first and combining prevention and control, focusing on key protection through patrols and inspections, ensuring campus safety and the order of parents picking up and dropping off students during holidays and school days.

In terms of environmental sanitation and greening management, we provide daily pest control, watering, and shaping for flowers, plants, and trees, strengthening the sanitation, management, and cleaning of public areas, making the school environment elegant and comfortable, truly becoming a garden-style campus.
