Perhaps all children in the world cannot repay their parents’ selfless love. Thank you for giving us life, giving us the opportunity to pursue and feel happiness. Thank you for nurturing our growth, being our mentors, teaching us how to live, how to be grateful. From now on, let us work harder, and use our actions to thank you, dear Dad Mom.

Lu Zhiwen, Lu Shichen, Lei Yifan, and He Huan recited "The Most Dazzling Sunshine in Life"

Teacher Tian Hongxia gave a speech titled "Gratitude to Parents, Priceless Filial Piety"

This themed flag-raising ceremony not only called on students to express their gratitude to their their parents’ parents with sincere blessings, but also promoted the traditional virtues of filial piety and cherishing family affection, guiding students to cultivate a grateful heart by caring for and understanding their parents, learning to care for others, in order to enhance students' moral qualities

Students recited "The Most Dazzling Sunshine in Life"

Lei: Today, the topic of our speech under the national flag is "The Most Dazzling Sunshine in Life"

Lu: Falling leaves swirl in the air, composing a grateful melody,

Lei: that is the gratitude of the tree to the earth that nourishes it;

Lu: White clouds drift in the blue sky, painting moving pictures,

He: that is the gratitude of the clouds to the sky that nourishes them.

Lei: The greatest kindness in the world is the nurturing grace of parents.

Lei: When we encounter difficulties, it is our parents who will help us with everything they have;

Lu: When we are wronged, it is our parents who will patiently listen to our complaints;

Lu: When we make mistakes, it is our parents who will readily forgive us;

He: When we succeed, it is our parents who will wholeheartedly celebrate with us and share our joy.

Lei: Parents hold up a sky of love for their children. Whether injured, crying, depressed, or sad, one can always return to this place and enjoy the warm and selfless love of their parents.

Lu: Life is not as perfect as imagined. We cannot understand our parents' feelings. Although we cannot share the hardships of life and the difficulties of starting a business with our parents, we can reduce their worries in life and contribute our part in small things.

Lu: Even a caring word or a bowl of noodles you cook yourself can comfort your parents' anxious hearts. Showing gratitude to your parents is not difficult.

(Whole class):

When parents call, respond without delay; when parents command, act without laziness;

When parents teach, listen respectfully; when parents reprimand, accept it obediently.

He: But classmates, how do we actually do this? Many students constantly complain about their parents, finding fault with their behavior and actions, even directly confronting them!

Lei: Some students don't know their parents' health conditions, don't remember their parents' birthdays, and some don't even know where their parents work. Think about it, your parents have devoted so much energy and effort to you, what have you done for your parents?

Lu, Lu: Classmates, I want to say, if today is the last day of my life, the first thing I would do is repay my parents who raised me.

(Whole class): A drop of kindness should be repaid with a spring of water!

Lei, He: What's more, parents give us more than just a drop of water, but a vast ocean

Lei: I remember a public service announcement that CCTV once aired, and I believe many of you have also seen it: a little boy, struggling to carry a basin of water, innocently says to his mother, "Mom, wash your feet!" This advertisement is still being aired today. Its emotion is touching, and it has touched countless people. It's not just for the cute boy, but also for that deep love, and the heartfelt gratitude for parents.

Lu, Lu: Gratitude to parents doesn't require earth-shattering actions; even the smallest thing can bring them immense comfort.

(Whole class):

     Warm in winter; cool in summer;

     Morning greetings; evening check-ins.

Report when going out; greet upon return;

Maintain a regular residence; remain steadfast in your pursuits.

Lu, Lu: When you leave for school, don't leave without looking back. Remember to wave goodbye to your parents; it's a sign of respect.

Lei, He: No matter how busy you are with your studies, remember to call your parents regularly to share your feelings about your studies and life, to reassure them; it brings them comfort.

(Four people together) When your parents are sick, a cup of water you bring them, a word of concern you speak, that is the greatest gratitude to your parents.

Lei: Our life journey is always sunny and bright. Which ray of sunshine is the most dazzling? Some say it's excellent academic results, others say it's acquiring great wealth, but I believe that the most brilliant sunshine on our life journey is gratitude.

Lu: Thank nature

He: For giving us the vibrant colors of life

Lu: Thank our parents

Lei: For giving us the loving care in our lives

(Four people together) Thank you to all living and non-living things that have given me different experiences in life.

(Whole class together) With a grateful heart, let us together, remember all the kindness of our parents, understand all the love of our parents, and be grateful for all the care of our parents.

(Four people together) Thank you all, our speech is over.

Teacher Tian's speech: "Gratitude to Parents, Priceless Filial Piety"

The "Modern Chinese Dictionary" explains the word "gratitude" as follows: to express gratitude for the help given by others. Our parents not only brought us into this world, allowing us to feel the bright sunshine and enjoy this wonderful life, but also constantly give us help. How much help have our parents given us! When we encounter difficulties in our studies and lives, our parents are the most worried; when we achieve success and honor, our parents are the happiest. In order to give us a good living environment, our parents work tirelessly and diligently... The love of parents is as deep as the sea, while the love we give our parents is as small as a drop of water. Therefore, regardless of their social status, knowledge level, or other qualities, they are our greatest benefactors in this life.

Some students say that they are grateful to their parents, but how should they express their gratitude? Let's revisit the story from the Three Character Classic: At nine years old, fragrant, he warmed the bed, filial to his parents, this was his practice. This child, Huang Xiang, at the age of nine, after his mother passed away, depended on his weak father. Knowing that his father's upbringing was difficult, he devoted all his filial piety to his father: in the hot summer, he would fan his father's pillow every night; in the cold winter, he would get into bed first to warm the bedding with his body temperature to prevent his father from catching a cold. Of course, we now have air conditioning and electric blankets, so we don't need to do this anymore. However, in our daily lives, how should we care for our parents? Even pouring them a cup of hot tea or saying a word of gratitude can bring a smile to their faces. In fact, gratitude is not difficult. Parents don't expect us to achieve great things; they only hope that we grow up healthy. Even just accompanying them for a walk is a great comfort to them!

Confucius said: "While parents are alive, do not travel far; if you must travel, let there be a plan." Ancient people advocated that when parents are alive, one should not travel far, and even if it is unavoidable, there should be a plan in place. The filial piety of the ancients is evident from this. As we grow older, what if we sometimes disagree with our parents? Confucius said: "Serve your parents with gentle remonstrance; if they do not agree, still be respectful and do not disobey, working hard without complaint." This means that if you disagree with your parents, you should discuss it gently, and your attitude should be respectful and not offensive. Is this inspiring for our senior students?

Gratitude to parents should not be limited to the "filial piety" advocated by the ancients. We must also strive to make progress, improve ourselves, and develop ourselves. What we can do now is to study hard and practice constantly. Be a good child at home and a good student at school.

In fact, gratitude to parents is not limited to our parents. We should also be grateful to our grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even strangers who have given us selfless help. We should have a grateful heart.

Only with a grateful heart will we be happy, have a positive attitude, and obtain what we want most—happiness!
