To cultivate good learning habits, my primary requirement for students is to listen attentively. How can I ensure that every student listens attentively in every class? Before class, I enter the classroom in advance and ask students to prepare beforehand. Only textbooks and pens needed for the class are allowed on their desks. Other items that may distract students, such as extracurricular books, correction fluid, erasers etc., are not allowed. In class, I give clear instructions: when to look up and listen to the teacher, when to look at the blackboard to observe pictures, when to listen to recordings and answer questions, when to open textbooks to read, and when to have group discussions. I will inform the students clearly. At the same time, I closely monitor each student. If I find a student distracted, I immediately call their name or gently tap their desk to remind them. After a semester of training, in my classroom, almost every student can follow the teacher's instructions. 3 Importance of Test Paper Analysis

Often, we are busy catching up with the teaching schedule, modifying presentations, correcting assignments, and providing tutoring for both high-achieving and underperforming students. However, after all this hard work, we find that students' grades haven't improved much. At this point, we often ask ourselves, why is this happening? What is the problem? In fact, the answer lies in the stacks of test papers we have. The test papers tell us which knowledge points students have mastered and which ones need to be re-explained. Which students have mastered the usage of a certain sentence pattern and which students haven't. The answers are all on the test papers. For every unit test, I set the same strict requirements for students to follow exam discipline as for mid-term or final exams. During the exam 40 I put aside all the assignments waiting to be graded and unfinished lesson plans within minutes and focus on one thing: invigilation, to get the most authentic results from the students. After grading the papers, I carefully review each one, looking for problems, making records, and then providing targeted explanations and tutoring.

Students, regardless of their grades, need encouragement. In addition to encouragement in class, I use a points system that includes various aspects of students' in-class and out-of-class performance. Students accumulate points, and group leaders and subject representatives are responsible for statistics, with monthly awards. Students with high points can receive a certificate. When students take the certificate home, I will contact the parents privately to inform them of their child's performance at school. Students who receive certificates receive double affirmation from teachers and parents. The number of points a student receives is not determined by their grades, which gives students who are temporarily behind a chance to receive a certificate. Therefore, this method strengthens home-school communication and motivates all students to learn. The average score of the three classes I teach in the last semester increased from 76.59 in the first monthly exam to 86.49 at the end of the semester. The total number of failing students in the three classes also decreased from 24 to 9 people.
