In September at Huamao Foreign Language School, the autumn is high and the air is crisp, with sweet-scented osmanthus and roses in full bloom. In this season of harvest, we welcome the new academic year, and we also welcome More than 700 energetic seventh-grade freshmen and 58 new teachers. Your joining makes our junior high school family stronger, more vibrant, and full of vitality. The past academic year was a crucial year for the development of our school. With the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the junior high school's education and teaching have achieved exciting results: Ninth-grade student Qiu Yuxin won the first prize in the Yingcheng City "My Motherland in My Heart" speech contest, and won the second prize in the Xiaogan City competition on behalf of Yingcheng City; Teacher Wu Wen, after winning the first prize in the Yingcheng City and Xiaogan City physics excellent lesson competition last semester, won the first prize at the provincial level in the "Hubei Good Classroom" competition, and will represent Xiaogan City in the on-site teaching demonstration of physics lessons in October in Hubei Province. There are 51 other teachers in the junior high school who have won awards in various competitions at all levels, I won't list them all here. I want to talk to you about the junior high school entrance examination results and the final unified examination results for grades seven and eight: In the 2019 junior high school entrance examination, our school ranked first in average score, 4.5 points higher than the second place. We achieved first place in the city in Chinese, Physics, Mathematics, and Moral and Law; and second place in English, Chemistry, and History. The highest score was 580 points, with 246 students taking the exam and 138 students exceeding the key high school admission score line. In the eighth-grade semester final exam, we ranked first, 11.5 points higher than the second place, with top two rankings in all subjects. These achievements are the result of our teachers' dedication, selfless devotion, and scientific efforts. They also represent the hard work of our students and fully demonstrate our school's teaching advantages of "low input, high output; high input, excellent output." This has received widespread praise from the education authorities and parents.

Achievements belong to the past. In the new semester, I hope all teachers and students will strive for further progress, endure hardship, persevere through loneliness, and persist until the moment of final success. Next, I'd like to share a law with you—the Lotus Law: In a pond, the number of lotus flowers doubles every day. If the pond is full of lotus flowers on the 30th day, on which day is the pond half full? The 15th day? Wrong! It's the 29th day. This is the famous Lotus Law, which contains a profound truth: Success requires accumulation and precipitation. Reflecting on this law in relation to life, you'll find that many people's lives are like the lotus flowers in the pond. Initially, they bloom vigorously, but gradually, people feel bored or even tired. You might give up on the 9th, 19th, or even the 29th day. Giving up at this point often means being just one step away from success. In many cases, even most of the time, perseverance is key to achieving success.

It is said that a person encounters about seven opportunities in their lifetime. Seizing just one can change their life, and such opportunities often arise only after consistent daily investment and persistence. Therefore, If you have a dream, you must first take action and then execute it unwaveringly.

Jack Ma once said: "Today is cruel, tomorrow will be more cruel, but the day after tomorrow will be beautiful. But most people die tomorrow evening, without seeing the sun the day after tomorrow." Most people are just one step away from success but choose to give up, so I hope all teachers and students can choose what you love, and love what you choose, Persistence will lead to success!

"Building a harmonious educational ecosystem and guiding teachers and students to healthy growth" is the educational philosophy we pursue in the junior high school department. This semester, we will increase the intensity of extracurricular activities. The variety of courses will be richer, and the time will be longer. At the same time, ninth grade will have music classes, and seventh and eighth grades will have psychology classes. We will also hold at least one large-scale event each month, such as the "Sing for the Motherland, Fly to the Dream" school-wide singing competition in September, a three-day outdoor activity for seventh graders at the Tangchi Expansion Base at the end of the month, speech contests, classic reading contests, New Year's Eve galas, etc. These rich and diverse activities allow students to grow up happily and joyfully.
