Reflections on Studying at Hengshui No.2 High School

Taking advantage of the holiday After a whole day's journey, I arrived at the renowned Hengshui No.2 High School, accompanied by teachers and classmates. At 8:30 pm, the school gate was filled with people—teachers and students from all over the country, all here to study.

Following the throng, I arrived at a classroom window. Through the thick glass, the inside and outside seemed like two different worlds—one quiet, one noisy. I watched them for five minutes, and not a single person looked up because of the noise outside. They truly achieved a 'zero-look-up rate'! On the third floor, a classroom's front and back doors were slightly ajar. I leaned in to listen carefully, and besides the 'rustling' sound of pens on paper, there was not a single other sound! I was deeply moved. What kind of spirit supports them? A yearning for a bright future? The pursuit of their ideal university? I was filled with emotion. Passing by the two walls beside the playground, I stopped involuntarily. Two entire walls were covered with photos of students who had been admitted to Tsinghua and Peking Universities in recent years. Hundreds of students from Tsinghua and Peking University, inspiring generation after generation of Hengzhong students to run tirelessly.

The next day, we woke up at 4:20 am, arrived at the Hengzhong gate at 5:00 am, and entered the playground at 5:20 am. In less than ten minutes, the first student ran onto the track, holding up their study materials, completely unconcerned about the crowd of visitors, and began to read aloud. In the next minute or two, students ran to the playground one after another, lined up, and began to read aloud. The sound of their reading was earth-shattering, as if even the heavens were awakened. After three to five minutes, they began their morning exercises. There was almost no space between rows, and the distance between classes was fixed, like blocks constantly moving, with slogans and whistles echoing across the playground. We were speechless, our hearts filled with indescribable awe, able only to silently reflect.

This experience has made me determined to change. To be more positive, more passionate, more meticulous, and to study harder, striving to be like the senior students of Hengzhong, to get into my ideal high school, and then my ideal university!
